〜湯ノ峰温泉・伊せやについて〜
湯の峰温泉は、四世紀ごろに熊野の国造、大阿刀足尼（おおあとのすくね）によって発見され、熊野詣において湯垢離場として栄えた「日本最古の湯」と言われています。

開湯から1800年。今も昔ながらの温泉情緒を残し、湯の町の風情を感じる事が出来ます。

今回は湯ノ峰温泉街の中にある「旅館伊せや」さんに訪れました。
こちらのお湯は、加水なし、加温なし、循環ろ過なし、消毒なし、入浴剤なしの本物の掛け流し温泉。湯の花は見たことのない大きさで舞い、ふわりと漂う硫黄の香りが心地いいです。

こちらは宿泊だけでなく、立ち寄り湯での利用も可能です。
立ち寄りで利用する際は、事前に電話で問い合わせされるのがいいかもしれません。

他にも湯ノ峰温泉には、世界遺産の登録されるお湯「つぼ湯」やヤタガラスを祀っている神社として有名な「熊野本宮大社」などがあります。

Baths: Inner baths: 1 each for men and women, open-air baths: 1 for women
There is one open-air bath in the "hot water of a princess" (women's hot water). If desired, it is possible to switch between men and women.

7,818 yen and up for 2 meals per night, 5,658 yen and up for overnight stay with no meal (dinner: 1,200 yen, breakfast: 800 yen)
There is no elevator in this inn. Guest rooms are not equipped with TVs or refrigerators. Please understand this in advance.

〜About Yunomine Onsen and Iseya〜
Yunomine Onsen is said to be the oldest hot spring in Japan, which was discovered by Oo Atosukune, the founder of Kumano in the 4th century, and flourished as a place of purification during pilgrimages to Kumano.

It is said to be the oldest hot spring in Japan. Even today, the town still retains the atmosphere of a traditional hot spring resort, and visitors can feel the atmosphere of a hot spring town.

This time we visited Ryokan Iseya, located in the Yunomine hot spring resort area.
The water here is genuine free-flowing hot spring water with no added water, no heating, no circulating filtration, no disinfection, and no bath salts. The flowers of the hot spring water dance in a size I have never seen before, and the aroma of sulfur that wafts through the air is pleasant.

This hot spring can be used not only for overnight stays but also for drop-in visits.
It may be a good idea to call in advance to inquire about using the baths as a stopover.

Other places in Yunomine Onsen include "Tsuboyu," a hot spring registered as a World Heritage site, and Kumano Hongu Taisha, famous for its shrine dedicated to the Yatagarasu, a crow.
