福島県塙町にある湯岐温泉 和泉屋旅館に行ってきました。
湯岐と書いて「ゆじまた」と言います。
湯岐温泉の歴史は古く、天文三年（1534年）に和泉屋旅館の先祖が開湯しました。
代々湯守を引き継ぎ、現在で20代目となる歴史ある湯元の宿です。

自然湧出の新鮮な掛け流し温泉が自慢です。
混浴の「鹿の湯」は、なんとも言えない美しい雰囲気でした。
お湯は40度ほどのぬる湯で、トロッとした柔らかい肌触りです。
美肌の湯として好評です。

自然湧出の源泉は断層の隙間からお湯がプクプク沸いています。
3.11の震災時、断層がズレ、一時、温泉が止まってしまったそうです。
しかし、余震でまた断層が戻り、再び温泉が沸いたという奇跡のようなお話もあります。

和泉屋旅館は宿泊中心で営んでいます。
ゆっくり身体を癒してほしいという想いからでしょう。
昔も今も変わらない日本の湯治宿として守り続けてきた源泉をぜひ堪能してみてください。

I visited the Izumiya Ryokan in Yujimata Onsen (hot spring) located in Hanawa Town, Fukushima Prefecture.
The word "湯岐" is written "yujimata.
The history of Yujimata Onsen is long, and the ancestors of Izumiya Ryokan opened the hot spring in 1534.
The inn has been in operation for many generations and is now in its 20th generation of owners.

The inn boasts fresh, naturally gushing, free-flowing hot spring water.
The mixed bathing "Shika no Yu" was indescribably beautiful.
The water is lukewarm, about 40 degrees Celsius, and has a soft, smooth texture.
It is popular as a hot spring for beautiful skin.

The naturally gushing fountainhead has water boiling from a gap in the fault line.
At the time of the 3.11 earthquake, the fault line shifted and the hot spring water temporarily stopped.
However, aftershocks caused the fault to return and the hot spring water began to boil again, a miraculous story.

Izumiya Ryokan is operated mainly for overnight stays.
This is probably because they want people to relax and heal their bodies.
Please enjoy the source of spring water that has been preserved as a Japanese hot-spring cure, which has remained unchanged in the past and still remains the same today.
